To set up and use the McGRAW 64858 21 gallon 175 PSI Oil-Free Vertical Air Compressor, follow these steps:
1. Unpack the compressor and ensure that all parts are intact and undamaged. If any parts are missing or broken, contact customer support at 1-888-866-5797.
2. Find a clean and well-lit work area to set up the compressor. Ensure that the area is free from clutter and away from any flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
3. Plug the compressor into a grounded 120 VAC electrical outlet. Make sure that the compressor's power cord matches the outlet and is not damaged. Do not use an adapter or modify the plug.
4. Before starting the compressor, make sure the drain valve is closed and the in-line shut-off valve between the compressor and the air hose is closed.
5. Turn on the power switch of the compressor. The compressor will automatically build up pressure until it reaches the cut-off pressure of 175 PSI.
6. Adjust the regulator xxxx to set the desired air pressure for your tool. Turn the xxxx clockwise to increase the pressure and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Gradually adjust the pressure while monitoring the air output gauge.
7. Connect your air tool to the air hose using a regulator valve, an in-line shut-off valve, and a 1/4" NPT air hose. Make sure the tool's throttle or switch is in the off position.
8. Open the in-line shut-off valve to supply air to the tool.
9. Use the air tool as needed. When you're done, turn off the power switch, unplug the compressor, and close the in-line shut-off valve.
10. Before storing the compressor, drain the moisture from the tank by opening the drain valve. Close the drain valve once all the pressure and moisture are released.
11. Clean the external surfaces of the compressor with a clean cloth after each use.
