To program the Fleck 5600SXT Metered Water Softener, please follow these step-by-step instructions:
1. Plug in the 5600SXT Valve to a nearby wall outlet. The display will show the time of day and the gallons remaining before the next regeneration.
2. Set the time on the system to 12:01 PM by pressing either the UP or DOWN button. Confirm the time with the REGEN button.
3. To enter MASTER PROGRAMMING MODE, press and hold both the UP and DOWN buttons for 5 seconds.
4. The display will show different settings. Do not change the values for DF/Gal (Display Format), VT/dF1b (Valve Type), CT/Fd (Control Type), and NT/---1 (Number of Tanks). Press the REGEN button to advance to the next setting.
5. The display will show c/32.0 (Unit Capacity). Use the UP or DOWN button to change this value to the one listed on page 2 or calculated on pages 4 and 5. Press the REGEN button to confirm.
6. The display will show H/20 (Hardness). Use the UP or DOWN button to change this value to the total hardness level of your water listed on page 2 or calculated on page 4. Press the REGEN button to confirm.
7. The display will show RS/SF (Reserve Selection/Safety Factor). Do not change the value for RS. Use the UP button to change the SF (Safety Factor) to 15%. Press the REGEN button to confirm.
8. The display will show DO/14 (Day Override). Do not change this value. Press the REGEN button to advance to the next setting.
9. The display will show RT/2:00 (Regen Time). If you prefer an alternate regeneration time, use the UP or DOWN button to change the value. Press the REGEN button to confirm.
10. The display will show BW/10 (Backwash). Do not change this value. Press the REGEN button to advance to the next setting.
11. The display will show BD/60 (Brine Draw). Do not change this value. Press the REGEN button to advance to the next setting.
12. The display may show RR/12 (Rapid Rinse). Do not change this value. Press the REGEN button to advance to the next setting.
13. The display may show BF/10 (Brine Fill). Use the value listed on page 2 or calculated on pages 4 and 5. Use the UP or DOWN button to adjust this value. Press the REGEN button to confirm.
14. The display may show FM/t0.7 (Flow Meter Type). Set the setting to t0.7 if you have the 3/4" turbine meter or P0.7 for the 3/4" paddle wheel meter. Press the REGEN button to advance to the home screen.
15. The system will now exit Master Programming mode, and the display will show the time of day followed by the number of gallons remaining. Adjust the time of day if necessary using the UP or DOWN button. Confirm the time with the REGEN button.
