To install and configure the Zabbix integration for ADVANTECH routers, please follow the steps below:
1. Server Installation and Configuration:
- Download the Zabbix Appliance ISO image and install it on a virtual machine.
- Access the Zabbix admin web page at http:// and login as "Admin" with the password "zabbix".
- Download the zbx_conel_templates.xml file from the ADVANTECH Engineering Portal.
- In the Zabbix Configuration section, click on Templates or enter http:///templates.php and import the zbx_conel_templates.xml file.
2. Zabbix SNMP Templates:
- Enable the SNMP service in the router configuration.
- In the Zabbix Host Configuration, add an SNMP Interface and link the Host to one or more SNMP Templates.
- Use the available SNMP Templates specific to ADVANTECH routers to monitor various parameters such as product name, firmware, serial number, temperature, etc.
3. Zabbix Agent Router App:
- Install the Zabbix Agent Router App on the router. Refer to the Configuration Manual for instructions on uploading a router app.
- In the Agent Configuration, configure connectivity to the Zabbix server.
- In the Zabbix Host Configuration, add an Agent Interface, define Encryption settings, and link the Host to one or more Agent Templates.
4. Custom Items Configuration:
- In the Agent Configuration, you can define custom items to be monitored by the Zabbix agent.
- Specify the custom key, command to execute, and timeout for each custom item.
5. Monitoring Operations:
- Create a Host in Zabbix for the router with a unique hostname.
- Assign the Host to a Host group, e.g., "Routers".
- Set the Interfaces to be used (SNMP or Agent) and link the appropriate Templates.
- After a few minutes, you should see the availability and encryption indicators, router inventory details, and retrieved status information in the Zabbix Monitoring section.
Please note that the above instructions are a summary of the installation and configuration process. For more detailed information and specific parameters, refer to the ADVANTECH Zabbix Integration Installation Guide and the related documents available on the ADVANTECH Engineering Portal.
