To install the DROP Whole House Cartridge Filter, follow these steps:
1. Attach the water meter, spacer, and bypass assembly. Lubricate the connector O-rings with food-grade silicone before installing them on the bypass. Hand tighten only.
2. Take note of the water flow arrows and plumb in your incoming and outgoing water. Use Teflon tape only on connector threads. Do not use other sealants as they can damage the threads.
3. Install the filter cartridge by removing the top cap first. Ensure that the O-rings are properly lubricated before installation. Insert the filter into the filter adapter of the bottom drain assembly. Make sure the filter is properly seated below the seal area.
4. Install the top pressure release cap lid to fully expose the retaining groove. Install the angled lead tip of the retaining ring into the groove. Push the retaining ring into the groove until the end snaps into place. Gently pull on the lid assembly to seat the O-ring.
5. If desired, connect a 9-volt battery to the DROP Board to monitor water flow during a power failure.
6. Place the cap on the tank, ensuring that the wire connections are in the wire trough.
7. Turn on the main water supply using the app or by pressing the button on the DROP Hub. Open a cold water tap nearby without the aerator (screen) and let it run for a few minutes to flush out any foreign material.
8. Bleed off air in the tank by gently pressing the red button on the top of the tank until water begins coming out of the pressure relief button.
9. Open a cold water tap and run water for several minutes to rinse the filter and release any excess air.
10. Check for leaks and ensure proper operation.
