To adjust the tension of the saw chain on the Makita GAU02 Cordless Telescopic Pole Saw, follow these steps:
1. Loosen the chain adjusting xxxx and the retaining nut located on the sprocket cover.
2. Lift up the guide bar tip slightly and adjust the chain tension by turning the chain adjusting xxxx . Turn it counterclockwise to tighten the chain and clockwise to loosen it.
3. Tighten the saw chain until the lower side of the saw chain fits in the groove of the guide bar.
4. Keep holding the guide bar lightly and attach the sprocket cover.
5. Make sure that the saw chain does not loosen at the lower side.
6. Tighten the retaining nut to secure the sprocket cover.
It is important to ensure that the saw chain is properly tensioned to prevent it from coming off the guide bar during operation. Adjust the tension as needed to ensure proper operation of the tool.
