To set up the Clearaudio Emotion SE turntable, follow these steps:
1. Find a safe and clean working area near the final position of the turntable.
2. Take out the motor and tonearm from the packaging.
3. Remove the first packing layer and then take out the turntable chassis from the next packing layer.
4. Place the turntable chassis on a clean surface.
5. Allow the turntable platter to reach room temperature (approximately 20°C).
6. Take the upper bearing part and place it on the lower bearing part integrated into the chassis.
7. Carefully place the platter onto the bearing by lightly moving it up and down until it slips onto the upper bearing part. Apply gentle pressure to ensure the platter is fully seated on the bearing.
8. Use the Clearaudio level gauge to check the level of the turntable. Adjust the feet of the turntable to bring it into level.
9. If you are using the Clearaudio Satisfy Kardan tonearm, slide the signal cable and tonearm shaft into the hole of the tonearm base at the upper right corner of the turntable chassis. Ensure the tonearm tube is parallel to the side edge of the chassis and tighten the tonearm with the provided hex wrench and screws.
10. Mount your cartridge on the tonearm following the manufacturer's instructions. Adjust the tracking force and alignment of the cartridge using the provided tools and gauges.
11. Connect the tonearm to the phono input of your phono preamplifier.
12. Take the motor pulley and place it on the motor shaft, leaving a distance of approximately 1 mm between the upper edge of the motor and the lower edge of the pulley. Tighten the screws in the pulley.
13. Place the motor unit into the stainless steel motor stand and fix it with the screws on the side of the motor stand.
14. Insert the motor unit into the cutout on the left side of the turntable chassis, ensuring the motor switch faces outside.
15. Connect the power cord to a power outlet.
16. Place one drive belt around the platter and the pulley, using the smaller diameter of the pulley for 33 1/3 rpm and the larger diameter for 45 rpm.
17. Set the motor switch to the "I" position to turn on the motor.
18. Let the turntable run for the first 15 to 30 minutes before use.
