The installation process for the Trail Grid Pro 4RUN-RAPTOR-WHITE-14-21 Toyota 4Runner Raptor Lights is relatively easy and can be done as a DIY project. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Crimp the ring terminal to the black wire and the add-a-fuse to the red wire. Ensure a snug connection by pulling gently on the wires. You can also use a heat gun to shrink the insulation on the ring terminal and butt connector for added security.
2. Insert the Raptor Lights into the desired locations on your grille. Start by inserting the wire end through the hole and gently push the light into place. If the light doesn't seem secure, try rotating it 180 degrees. The tabs should lock into place. Repeat this step for all four lights.
3. Connect all four lights to the provided wiring harness. The connections are keyed and will only fit one way. Route the power and ground wire behind the driver's side headlight and towards the fuse panel located behind the battery.
4. Install the add-a-fuse into the INJ fuse located in the fuse box under the hood near the driver-side fender. Remove the 10 amp fuse from the INJ location and place it into the empty slot on the add-a-fuse. Then, place the add-a-fuse back into the INJ fuse location.
5. Secure the ring terminal from the black wire to the 10mm ground bolt. This bolt is located near the battery on the inside of the driver's side fender.
For additional information, the manual suggests alternate fuse locations (EFI No.2, H-lp LH, H-lp RH) if desired. It is also recommended to cut a small notch in the bottom of the fuse box lid to ensure the fuse cover closes tightly without damaging the red power wire.
