To clean and sanitize the RICE LAKE Ishida Uni-9 Series PC Scale, follow these steps:
1. Gather the necessary supplies: clean warm water, isopropyl/rubbing alcohol or alcohol swabs/wipes, clean cotton towels (blue and red), and optional mild degreaser or non-chloride-based sanitizer.
2. Turn off the scale by holding the power button located underneath the screen/keypad for one second, then press EXEC.
3. Remove the weigh platter and clean it.
4. Clean the scale exterior, including beneath the weigh platter and the scale itself, using a clean cotton towel dampened with warm water. For areas that require alcohol-based cleaning, use a red towel dampened with isopropyl/rubbing alcohol.
5. Open the printer and remove the cassette and label roll.
6. Clean any dust from the cassette using a clean cotton towel.
7. Clean the black platen roller and the gap prism with isopropyl/rubbing alcohol using a red towel.
8. Load labels into the cassette and clean any dust from the cassette compartment.
9. Wipe the peel sensors with a clean cotton towel.
10. Clean the print head with isopropyl/rubbing alcohol using a red towel.
11. Return the cassette to the printer.
12. Reinstall the weigh platter.
13. Power on the scale using the physical key located underneath the screen/keypad.
14. Print and remove two labels to align them with the print head.
Important: Do not leave the scale powered off overnight. If the print quality appears degraded despite proper cleaning of the print head, call for service.
15. If a remote scale base is included, remove the scale platter and wipe it clean.
16. Wipe the exterior and underside of the scale clean using a clean cotton towel.
