The transformer should be installed at least 5 feet (1.5 meters) away from a pool, spa, or fountain to reduce the risk of electric shock. If the power unit is installed indoors within 10 feet (3.0 meters) of a pool, spa, or fountain, or outdoors, it should be connected to a receptacle protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). Please refer to the safety information section in the user manual for more details.
