To install the HUDSON VALLEY LABRA 9603 Wall Sconce, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect power: Before starting the installation, make sure to disconnect the power to the fixture. This can be done by turning off the circuit breaker or removing the fuse.
2. Mounting plate: Attach the mounting plate (1) to the junction box using the provided mounting screws (2). Ensure that the junction box is securely mounted to the building structure.
3. Ground wire: Connect the green ground wire from the fixture to the ground wire inside the outlet box (usually green or bare copper wire) or to the ground xxxx (3) on the mounting plate. Never connect the ground wire to the hot wire, as this can result in serious injury or death.
4. Wiring: Connect the white fixture lead to the neutral wire (usually white) in the outlet box. Use an approved fastener (wire nut) (4) to secure the wires together. Wrap the connection with electrical tape starting 1" below the fastener to seal the end. Ensure there are no exposed wires or strands that could cause a short circuit.
5. Hot wire: Connect the black fixture leads to the hot wire (usually black) in the junction box. Fasten the joined wires as done in the previous step. Never reverse hot and neutral wires, as this can result in serious injury or death.
6. Fixture assembly: Attach the fixture assembly (5) to the mounting plate (1) and secure it with the flathead xxxx (6).
7. Bulb installation: xxxx the bulb (7) into the socket of the fixture. Note that this fixture is rated for a maximum of 60 watts, so do not exceed the recommended wattage.
8. Restore power: Once the installation is complete, restore power to the outlet by turning on the circuit breaker or replacing the fuse.
