Cleaning and maintaining your Honeywell CS071AE Portable Evaporative Air Cooler is important to ensure its optimal performance. Here are the steps to clean and maintain the air cooler:
1. Before cleaning, make sure to switch off the unit and disconnect it from the electrical socket.
2. Move the air cooler to a location where the water can be drained. Remove the cap from the drain plug located at the bottom of the unit and allow the water tank to empty.
3. Refill the water tank with clean water up to the maximum level and drain it completely.
4. Use a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust from the surface of the unit. Do not use corrosive elements or chemicals for cleaning.
5. The air cooler is equipped with a Carbon Dust Filter and Honeycomb Cooling Media. To clean them, follow these steps:
a. Remove all the screws from the Rear Grill of the air cooler.
b. Carefully pull out the Rear Grill from the cooler.
c. Slide out the Carbon Dust Filter and clean it with water. If your model does not have a Carbon Dust Filter, skip this step.
d. Pull out the Honeycomb Cooling Media and clean it with water and a damp cloth. If there are mineral deposits on the media, it may need to be cleaned more frequently.
e. Replace the cleaned or new Carbon Dust Filter and Honeycomb Cooling Media back into the air cooler.
6. For best results, allow the Honeycomb Cooling Media to dry after each use by turning off the cool function 15 minutes before turning off the unit.
7. When the air cooler is not in use, store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
