To install the Altronix SMP5CTX220 Series Power Supply Chargers, follow these steps:
1. Mount the unit in the desired location using the provided enclosure. Mark and predrill holes in the wall to line up with the top two keyholes in the enclosure. Install two upper fasteners and screws in the wall with the xxxx heads protruding. Place the enclosure's upper keyholes over the two upper screws, level, and secure. Mark the position of the lower two holes. Remove the enclosure, drill the lower holes, and install the three fasteners. Place the enclosure's upper keyholes over the two upper screws and install the two lower screws. Make sure to tighten all screws and secure the enclosure to earth ground.
2. Slide the Power ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
3. Set SW1 on the power supply board to the desired DC output voltage. Refer to the Power Supply Voltage Output Specifications chart in the manual to determine the switch position for 12VDC or 24VDC output.
4. Connect the AC circuit (115VAC or 230VAC, 50Hz/60Hz) as follows: Green branch wire connects to the ground lug. Line and Neutral wires connect to the connector on the power supply board marked [L, N] respectively. Use 18 AWG or larger wires for all power connections (Battery, DC output). Use 22 AWG to 18 AWG wires for AC Fail/Low Battery reporting.
5. Slide the Power ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
6. Measure the output voltage before connecting devices to avoid potential damage.
7. Connect the devices to be powered to the terminals marked [– DC +], ensuring correct polarity.
8. If using standby batteries, connect the battery to the terminals marked [– BAT +]. For 12VDC operation, use one 12VDC battery. For 24VDC operation, use two 12VDC batteries connected in series.
9. If you have the SMP5PMCTX220 model, connect appropriate signaling notification devices to the AC Fail and Low Bat supervisory relay outputs marked [NC, C, NO].
10. Slide the Power ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
