To connect the Permanent-Power-Switch Unit DSU to a Turnout-Decoder or Turntable-Decoder, follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, switch off the voltage of the layout by either switching off the transformers or disconnecting the mains supply.
2. Locate the clamp KL1 on the left side of the DSU, which is marked "G," "COM," and "R." These clamps will be used for the connection.
3. For connecting to a Turnout-Decoder S-DEC-4, identify the output clamps of the Turnout-Decoder, which are also marked with "G" and "R." Connect the clamp marked "COM" on the DSU to the middle connection of the decoder output. The bistable relay of the DSU contains two switch-over contacts at the clamps KL2 and KL3 (upper and lower position). Each switch contact can handle a maximum load of 1 Ampere. The common contact of the switch (block pole) is always the middle contact of the DSU output clamps. Depending on the power load of the consumers, you can connect the output to one or both clamps.
4. For connecting to a Turntable-Decoder TT-DEC, locate the clamps on the decoder marked "G," "Com," and "R." Connect the DSU to these corresponding clamps.
5. If the Permanent-Power-Switch DSU is combined with the TurnTable-Decoder TT-DEC, the polarity of a 2-conductor turntable bridge will be automatically changed every 180 degrees of turning.
