To install the Insane Audio JK4001 Multimedia Head Unit in your vehicle, please follow the steps outlined in the user manual:
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal before beginning the installation.
2. Open the dashboard by prying open the rubber insert on the top of the dash and removing the 7mm bolt underneath. Pry open the center switch panel and remove the 7mm bolt behind it. Pry off the dash panel below the steering wheel and remove the two 7mm bolts at the top corners. Pop off the entire upper dash panel.
3. Remove the OEM head unit by removing the four 7mm bolts on the face of the stock radio. Disconnect the antenna and old wiring harness from the factory harness.
4. If your vehicle previously had OEM uConnect modules, remove them by removing the AC controls and unplugging the uConnect module.
5. Install the JK4001 by connecting the main power wire harness, audio RCA wire harness (for aftermarket amps and speakers), USB Fast Charge harness, IA Carplay/Android Auto wire harness, RockCam wire harness (for camera connections), USB wire harness, Insane TV wire harness (if applicable), WiFi antenna, Bluetooth antenna, GPS antenna, external microphone, digital optical output (optional), and AM/FM radio antenna.
6. Route all USB wires to the glove box.
7. Place the GPS antenna on the top of the head unit using the magnetic or adhesive mount.
8. Connect the external microphone to the back of the head unit via the 3.5mm headphone jack plug.
9. Connect your cameras to the RockCam video RCA pigtail. Use the RockCam Power and GND wires to power your cameras. If you have a manual transmission, you may need to run a wire from your reverse lights to activate the rear camera.
10. Check the camera installation by opening the RockCam app.
