The installation process for the groen XS-240-8-1 Electric Boilerless Connectionless Convection Steamer is as follows:
1. Location & Placement: The steamer can be placed on a standard commercial kitchen countertop or on a stainless steel stand. It does not usually require a hood or vent, so it can be placed anywhere in the kitchen.
2. Leveling: The steamer must be installed in a level condition. If placed on a countertop, adjust the four legs as needed to level the steamer. If installed on a stand, bolt the unit in place at the four locations on the bottom of the cooker and level the unit by adjusting the four legs on the stand.
3. Electrical Supply: The steamer must be connected to a properly grounded electrical supply. Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman to ensure that the supply receptacle meets the correct voltage and amperage requirements listed on the data plate located on the rear of the unit. Do not connect the steamer to any other voltage as it may cause damage and void the warranty.
4. Water Connection (Auto-Fill Models Only): If your model has an auto-fill feature, it must be connected to a water supply not exceeding 60 PSI. Use an NSF approved appliance hose with a ¾” garden hose type connection to connect from a spigot/shut-off valve to the steamer. Ensure that adequate backflow protection is installed to comply with applicable codes. The reservoir will automatically fill to the maximum operating level while the unit preheats.
