To install the KICHLER 82400 Maritime Brushed Nickel Coastal Ribbed Glass Cylinder Mini Pendant Light, follow these steps:
1. xxxx the threaded pipe (G) into the stem coupling (J). Make sure to pull the electrical cable through the parts as you install them.
2. Slip the shade base cup (M) down over the threaded pipe (G) until it rests on the slotted coupling (N).
3. xxxx the loop (F) into the threaded pipe (G).
4. Position the threaded xxxx (C) in the mounting bracket (B) so that it protrudes at least 1/4 inch beyond the raised center portion of the bracket (B). The height of the threaded xxxx (C) should be such that 1/2 of the exterior threads of the xxxx collar loop (I) will extend past the canopy (A) when it is mounted. Note that the canopy (A) is only needed to determine the position of the threaded xxxx (C) and xxxx collar loop (I), and it will be installed later.
5. Secure the threaded xxxx (C) and mounting bracket (B) with hex nuts (D) as follows:
- xxxx one hex nut (D) onto the threaded xxxx (C) and tighten it against the raised portion of the mounting bracket (B).
- xxxx another hex nut (D) onto the threaded xxxx (C) and tighten it against the flat portion of the mounting bracket (B).
- xxxx the remaining hex nut (D) onto the threaded xxxx (C) and tighten it against the xxxx collar loop (I).
6. Open the chain links (K) by locating the split in the chain link that needs to be opened and removed. Use pliers to open the link by rotating them in opposite directions. Thread the chain (K) through the xxxx collar ring (H) and canopy (A). Attach one end of the chain (K) to the xxxx collar loop (I) and the other end to the threaded pipe with the loop (F). Weave the fixture's electrical and ground wires through every other chain link and pass them through the threaded xxxx (C) into the outlet box. Lower the xxxx collar ring (H) and canopy (A) over the chain (K). Adjust the length of the chain by adding or removing links as needed. Leave six inches of extra wire protruding from the xxxx collar loop (I) and threaded xxxx (C).
7. Connect the ground wire from the outlet box to the ground xxxx on the mounting bracket (B) and tighten the ground xxxx . If the fixture has a ground wire, connect it to the outlet ground wire using a wire connector.
8. Connect the neutral (white) supply wire from the outlet box to the neutral fixture wire (white or parallel cord "D" shaped and ribbed). Connect the hot (black) supply wire from the outlet box to the hot fixture wire (black or parallel cord round and smooth). Use wire connectors to make the connections.
9. Pass the canopy (A) over the xxxx collar loop (I) and attach the xxxx collar ring (H) to secure the canopy (A). Make sure all wires are inside the canopy (A) and do not get pinched between the canopy (A) and mounting bracket (B) or ceiling.
10. Raise the glass shade (L) by passing the hole in the top of the shade over the socket (E). Continue raising the glass shade (L) until the slotted coupling (N) is accessible. Insert the slotted washer (P) into the slot in the slotted coupling (N) and place the rubber gasket (O) around the slotted coupling (N) and on top of the slotted washer (P). Lower the glass shade (L) and shade base cup (M) onto the rubber gasket (O) and slotted washer (P).
11. Insert a 75-watt max. medium base bulb or LED equivalent (not included) into the socket (E).
