To install the KICHLER 49931WZC Bay Village Outdoor Wall Light, please follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to disconnect the power at the main circuit breaker panel or main fuse box.
2. Find the appropriate threaded holes on the mounting strap that align with the hole distance in the canopy. Thread the mounting screws into these threaded holes starting from the outlet box side.
3. Attach the mounting strap to the outlet box using the strap mounting screws. The mounting strap can be adjusted to suit the position of the fixture.
4. Grounding instructions:
- If the mounting strap is provided with a hole and two raised dimples, wrap the ground wire from the outlet box around the green ground xxxx and thread it into the hole.
- If a cupped washer is provided, put the ground wire from the outlet box under the cupped washer and the green ground xxxx , and thread the xxxx into the hole in the mounting strap.
If the fixture is provided with a ground wire, connect it to the outlet box ground wire using a wire connector. Never connect the ground wire to black or white power supply wires.
5. Make wire connections according to the chart provided in the manual. Connect the black or red supply wire to the corresponding wire color, and connect the white supply wire to the other wire color as indicated in the chart.
6. Carefully push the fixture to the wall, passing the mounting screws through the holes in the canopy. Ensure that all wires are inside the canopy and do not get pinched between the wall and the fixture's canopy.
7. Thread the lockup knobs onto the mounting screws and tighten them to secure the fixture to the wall.
8. Install the glass panels by sliding them up from the bottom of the glass cage and seating them into the inside bottom of the cage. Bend over the tabs above the glass to secure them into place. Repeat this step for all the glass panels.
9. Finally, insert the recommended bulb (not supplied) into the fixture.
For mounting the fixture outdoors and/or in wet locations, ensure that the mounting surface is clean, dry, flat, and 1/4" larger than the canopy on all sides. Any gaps exceeding 3/16" between the mounting surface and canopy should be corrected. Apply silicone caulking compound completely around where the back of the canopy meets the wall surface to prevent water from seeping into the outlet box.
