To install the KICHLER 49746WZCL18 Argyle Post Light, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect power: Before starting the installation, make sure to disconnect power at the main circuit breaker panel or main fuse box.
2. Mark the mounting holes: Slip the fixture over the post and mark the position of the mounting holes on the post.
3. Remove the fixture: Take off the fixture from the post.
4. Drill holes: Use a 3/16" diameter drill bit to drill holes in the post at the marked positions.
5. Connect ground wire (if provided): If the fixture comes with a ground wire, connect it to the outlet box ground wire using a wire connector. Never connect the ground wire to black or white power supply wires.
6. Make wire connections: Refer to the provided chart to determine the correct wire connections. Connect the black or red supply wire to the corresponding wire color (black) on the fixture, and connect the white supply wire to the corresponding wire color (white) on the fixture.
7. Secure the fixture: Slip the fixture over the post again and secure it in place using the provided screws. The screws should fit into the holes drilled in the post.
8. Install the bulb: Insert the recommended bulb into the socket.
9. Attach the glass: Lower the glass down over the socket and fit the bottom of the glass onto the fixture base.
10. Attach the cage: Lower the cage down over the glass and set it on the fixture base. Thread the screws up from the underside of the base and into the cage. Tighten the screws to secure the cage to the base.
