Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install the KICHLER 45697OZ Karmarie Vanity Light:

1. Before starting the installation, make sure to disconnect power at the main circuit breaker panel or main fuse box.

2. Find the appropriate threaded holes on the mounting strap (A) that align with the hole distance in the canopy (B). Thread the mounting screws (C) into the threaded holes starting from the outlet box (D) side.

3. Attach the mounting strap (A) to the outlet box (D) using the strap mounting screws (E). The mounting strap can be adjusted to suit the position of the fixture.

4. Grounding instructions: There are two options depending on the design of your mounting strap:
a. If the mounting strap has a hole and two raised dimples, wrap the ground wire from the outlet box around the green ground xxxx and thread it into the hole.
b. If a cupped washer is provided, attach the ground wire from the outlet box under the cupped washer and a green ground xxxx , then thread it into the mounting strap.

5. If your fixture is provided with a ground wire, connect the fixture ground wire to the outlet box ground wire using a wire connector (not provided). Never connect the ground wire to black or white power supply wires.

6. Make wire connections according to the reference chart provided in the manual. Connect the black or red supply wire to the corresponding wire color (black) on the fixture, and connect the white supply wire to the corresponding wire color (white) on the fixture.

7. Carefully push the fixture to the wall, making sure not to pinch any wires between the wall and the canopy of the fixture.

8. Place the lockwasher (G) onto the mounting screws before threading the lockup knobs (F) onto the screws. Tighten the knobs to secure the fixture to the wall.

9. Raise the glass (H) carefully and slip the opening over the socket, fitting the glass against the socket.

10. Thread the socket ring (I) onto the socket and tighten it to secure the glass in place. Do not over tighten.

11. Finally, insert the recommended bulb(s) (not supplied) into the sockets.
