Installation of the EASTMAN 60232 Quarter Turn Ball Valve Copper Sweat Ice Maker Outlet Box involves a few steps. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Shut off the water supply: Before starting the installation, make sure to shut off the water supply to the area where you will be installing the outlet box. This will prevent any water leakage during the installation process.
2. Prepare the copper pipe: Cut the copper pipe to the desired length using a pipe cutter. Ensure that the ends of the pipe are clean and free from any debris or burrs.
3. Solder the copper pipe: Apply flux to the ends of the copper pipe and the inside of the sweat connection on the outlet box. Insert the pipe into the sweat connection and use a propane torch to heat the joint. Once the joint is heated, apply solder to the joint until it flows smoothly around the connection. Allow the joint to cool and solidify.
4. Mount the outlet box: Position the outlet box in the desired location on the wall. Ensure that it is level and mark the mounting holes. Use screws or nails to secure the outlet box to the wall.
5. Connect the water supply: Connect the water supply line to the inlet of the outlet box. Use a wrench to tighten the connection securely.
6. Install the ice maker valve: The EASTMAN 60232 Quarter Turn Ball Valve is already integrated into the outlet box. Simply turn the valve handle to the "on" position to allow water flow to the ice maker.
