To assemble the HARBOR FREIGHT 57047 2 Ton Low Profile Rapid Pump Floor Jack, follow these steps:
1. Start by attaching the handle. Align the hole on the lower handle with the handle lock button and connect the upper and lower handles together. Make sure the button clicks into place. Then, loosen the set xxxx and insert the assembled handle into the handle socket. Finally, tighten the set xxxx .
2. Next, you may need to bleed the hydraulic system. Turn the handle counterclockwise to open the release valve. Remove the four screws holding the pump cover and remove the oil fill plug. Top off the hydraulic oil if needed. Apply pressure to the saddle and quickly pump the handle several times. Check the oil fill hole again and top off with hydraulic oil if necessary. Replace the oil fill plug and turn the handle clockwise to close the release valve. Test the jack several times for proper operation before attempting to lift a load.
3. Before using the floor jack, make sure to check the hydraulic oil level. Remove the fill xxxx and add high-grade hydraulic fluid slowly until the oil reaches the top of the oil fill hole. Replace the fill xxxx .
4. To lift a vehicle, park it on a flat, level, solid surface away from oncoming traffic. Turn off the vehicle's engine and place the transmission in "PARK" (if automatic) or in its lowest gear (if manual). Set the vehicle's emergency brake and chock the wheels that are not being lifted.
5. Turn the handle counterclockwise to lower the jack. Once the jack is fully lowered, turn the handle firmly clockwise to close it. Position the saddle of the jack under the vehicle manufacturer's recommended lifting point. Pump the handle until the top of the jack's saddle has nearly reached the vehicle lifting point. To lift the vehicle, pump the handle of the jack using smooth, full strokes.
6. Once the vehicle is raised, slide a jack stand of appropriate capacity under a proper lifting point referred to in the vehicle owner's manual. Always use two jack stands, positioned at the same point on each side of the vehicle. Center the vehicle's lifting point(s) on the saddle of the jack stand(s) and set the jack stand(s) to the same height according to the manufacturer's instructions. Slowly turn the handle counterclockwise to lower the vehicle onto the saddle(s) of the jack stand(s). Then, turn the handle firmly clockwise to close it.
7. To lower the vehicle, carefully remove all tools, parts, etc. from under the vehicle. Position the saddle under the lifting point and turn the handle firmly clockwise to raise the load high enough to clear the jack stands. Then, carefully remove the jack stands. Slowly turn the handle counterclockwise (never more than 1/2 full turn) to lower the vehicle onto the ground. Lower the jack completely and store it in a safe, dry location.
