To assemble the KICHLER 82406 Edinborough Mini Pendant, please follow these steps:
1. Carefully raise the glass shade (L) up to the socket (E), passing the small hole in the glass shade over the socket until the raised top portion of the glass shade is seated in the socket base cup. While holding the glass shade in place, thread the socket ring (M) onto the socket and tighten to secure the glass shade. Do not overtighten.
2. Align the top of the inner frame (N) with the bottom of the coupling (J) on the outer hoop (O). While holding the inner frame and outer hoop together, xxxx the threaded pipe (G) through the coupling and into the top of the inner frame. Align the outer hoop parallel to the center bar on the inner frame. Once aligned, tighten the threaded pipe to secure the outer hoop and inner frame together. Note: Apply thread locking compound to all stem threads as indicated to prevent accidental rotation of the fixture.
3. Position the threaded xxxx (C) in the mounting bracket (B) so that, when mounted, the threaded xxxx will protrude a minimum of 1/4 inch beyond the raised center portion of the bracket. The threaded xxxx height should be positioned so that 1/2 of the exterior threads of the xxxx collar loop (I) will extend past the canopy (A) when it is mounted. Note: The canopy is only needed to determine the position of the threaded xxxx and xxxx collar loop. It will be installed later.
4. Once the proper position of the threaded xxxx and mounting bracket has been determined, secure them with the hex nuts (D) as follows:
- xxxx one hex nut onto the threaded xxxx and tighten against the raised portion of the mounting bracket.
- xxxx another hex nut onto the threaded xxxx and tighten against the flat portion of the mounting bracket.
- xxxx the remaining hex nut onto the threaded xxxx and tighten against the xxxx collar loop.
5. Open the chain links (K) by locating the split in the chain link that needs to be opened and removed. Put one pair of pliers on each side of the split and rotate the pliers in opposite directions to open the link's split. The open link should be shaped like the letter "C". Thread the chain through the xxxx collar ring (H) and canopy (A). Attach one end of the chain to the xxxx collar loop (I) and the other end to the threaded pipe with the loop (F). Weave the fixture electrical and ground wires through every other chain link and pass them through the threaded xxxx into the outlet box. Lower the xxxx collar ring and canopy over the chain. Note: Add or remove chain links as needed to achieve the desired length. Trim any extra cabling, leaving six inches of extra wire protruding from the xxxx collar loop and threaded xxxx . Make sure the open chain links are fully closed once assembled to avoid damage from falling.
6. Connect the ground wire from the outlet box to the ground xxxx on the mounting bracket. For installation in the United States, wrap the ground wire around the ground xxxx no less than 2 inches from the wire end. Tighten the ground xxxx . If the fixture is supplied with a ground wire, connect it to the outlet ground wire using a wire connector. For installation in Canada, if the fixture is supplied with a ground wire, wrap it around the ground xxxx on the mounting bracket and tighten the ground xxxx . Connect the fixture ground wire to the outlet ground wire using a wire connector.
7. Connect the neutral (white) supply wire from the outlet box to the neutral fixture wire (white or parallel cord "D" shaped and ribbed). Connect the hot (black) supply wire from the outlet box to the hot fixture wire (black or parallel cord round and smooth). Note: The fixture wires will either be black and white or parallel cord SPT-1 lamp wire with one round smooth wire and one "D" shaped ribbed wire.
8. Pass the canopy over the xxxx collar loop and attach the xxxx collar ring to secure the canopy. Make sure all wires are inside the canopy and do not get pinched between the canopy and mounting bracket or ceiling.
9. Insert a 60-watt max. medium base bulb or LED equivalent into the socket.
