To pair the AeoTec Smart Switch 7 F Plug with your Z-Wave network, you can follow these steps:
1. Using your existing Z-Wave Controller with Smart Start:
- Scan the QR code on the Smart Switch 7 F Plug using your Z-Wave gateway/controller's app.
- Plug the Smart Switch 7 F Plug into any outlet you want to install it on.
- The Smart Switch 7 F Plug will automatically pair with your Z-Wave network.
2. Using your existing Z-Wave Controller without Smart Start:
- Set your Z-Wave Controller into its 'Add Device' mode (refer to the controller's manual if needed).
- Power on the Smart Switch 7 F Plug by plugging it into a wall socket.
- Click the Action Button on the Smart Switch 7 F Plug two times within three seconds.
- The LED on the Smart Switch 7 F Plug will change to red after the first click, and then to orange after the second click.
- If your Z-Wave Controller supports S2 encryption, enter the first 5 digits of the DSK (Device Security Key) into your Controller's interface if requested. The DSK is printed on the Smart Switch 7 F Plug.
- If pairing succeeds, the LED will become a bright blue light for 2 seconds. If pairing fails, the LED will light a solid bright red light for 2 seconds and then return to a breathing blue light. Repeat steps 1 to 4 if pairing fails.
Once paired, the Smart Switch 7 F Plug will be part of your Z-Wave home control system, and you can configure it and its automation via your Z-Wave system. For more detailed instructions, please refer to your Z-Wave software's user guide.
