Cleaning the Groen SSB-3G Countertop Convection Steamer is an important part of its maintenance. Here is the recommended cleaning procedure:
1. Exterior Cleaning:
- Prepare a warm solution of mild detergent and use a cloth or sponge to clean the outside of the unit.
- Do not allow liquid to touch the controls, control panel, or any electrical parts.
- Use a fiber brush or plastic/rubber scraper with a detergent solution to remove any stuck-on material.
2. Interior Cleaning:
- Press the OFF switch to turn off the steamer and allow it to cool completely.
- Remove the steam lid, left pan rack, and rack/shroud assembly.
- Clean the steam lid, pan racks, and rack/shroud assembly with a mild detergent. These parts can be cleaned in a dishwasher.
- Use a mild detergent to wipe down the entire steamer cavity and remove food and scale particles.
- Clean the drain strainer thoroughly to remove any debris.
- Replace the pan racks and steam lid.
3. Deliming (if necessary):
- If there is excessive scale build-up, you can use vinegar or a Groen-approved delimer to remove it.
- Turn the steamer on and allow water to enter the cavity.
- Pour 1 cup of vinegar or delimer into the cavity and set the timer to 30 minutes.
- After the cleaning cycle is complete, turn the steamer off and allow it to cool completely.
- Wipe down the cavity to remove loosened scale particles.
- Replace the pan racks and steam lid.
It is important to follow these cleaning instructions to maintain the performance and longevity of your steamer. Make sure to read and follow any safety warnings and instructions provided by the cleaning agent manufacturer.
