To install the HARVIA WHP1500 Stainless Steel Chimney Kit, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the chimney is mounted in a vertical position and that there are no inflammable materials within the established safety distances.
2. Install the chimney according to the safety distance values provided in the manual. The safety distance between the inflammable structures and the chimney outer casing must be a minimum of 100 mm.
3. If the connecting pipe in the forward end is of non-isolated material, the safety distance from this pipe to inflammable construction materials needs to be 500 mm.
4. The isolated chimney should be visible up to a minimum of 430 mm.
5. If the chimney is exposed to touch, it should be protected with steel mesh, ensuring it does not interfere with ventilation around the pipe. Protection is not necessary if the chimney is installed in a sauna.
6. Do not encapsulate the chimney.
7. Make the necessary openings in the intermediate floor and the roof, ensuring they meet the safety distance requirements.
8. Fill the space between the chimney and the roof structures with lead-through insulation ZSH-200 or other class A insulating material with a long-term operating temperature limit of 750 °C or more.
9. Ensure that the 100 mm safety distance requirement is fulfilled in lead-throughs and intermediate floors.
10. Connect the parts of the steel chimney by following the instructions provided in the manual. This involves slotting the smoke pipe to the studs of the smoke pipe below, pressing the outer casing with insulation on the smoke pipe, and locking the casing in place with screws.
11. Install the rain flange from the upper end of the chimney on the surface of the roof, ensuring it is fixed firmly in the damper.
12. Install the rain cap by slotting it in the damper with the smoke pipe of the lower module and gently turning it clockwise.
13. Install the lead-through flange around the chimney in horizontal or pitched ceilings, ensuring the components overlap and fixing it in place with screws.
14. Use a plastic or stainless steel brush for sweeping the chimney.
