To install the HARVIA WHP1500 Stylish Steel Chimney, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the chimney is mounted in a vertical position.
2. Make sure to maintain the specified safety distances between the chimney and any flammable materials.
3. If using a non-isolated connecting pipe, maintain a safety distance of 500 mm from any flammable construction materials.
4. The isolated chimney should be visible up to a minimum of 430 mm.
5. Protect the chimney from touch if it is exposed to heat by using a steel mesh, ensuring it does not interfere with ventilation.
6. Do not encapsulate the chimney.
7. Consult the local fire authorities for more detailed instructions.
For lead-through installations:
1. Openings need to be made in the intermediate floor and the roof, and their minimum size should be determined by the safety distances.
2. Fill the space between the chimney and the roof structures with lead-through insulation XX101 or another class A insulating material with a long-term operating temperature limit of 750 °C or more.
3. Ensure there is no combustible material among the insulation.
4. Install the chimney so that the pipe joints do not meet with the lead-through areas.
To connect the parts of the steel chimney:
1. Pull the smoke pipe of the component/extension out of the insulation and the outer casing.
2. Join the pipe by slotting it to the studs of the smoke pipe below. Turn clockwise until the joint tightens and the pipe is fixed.
3. Press the outer casing with the insulation on the smoke pipe. Slot the studs in the outer casing below. Turn clockwise until the joint tightens and the pipe is fixed.
4. Seal any gaps between the insulation sheets by pressing them downwards in the pipe.
5. Lock the outer casing in place with three self-boring screws through the metal sockets.
6. Join the upper end with three self-boring screws through the plate.
To install the rain flange:
1. Cut an opening in the rain flange with a diameter of 175-180 mm, approximately 20% less than the chimney diameter.
2. Mount the flange from the upper end of the chimney on the surface of the roof, ensuring the aluminum-covered side of the border is upwards.
3. Mold the brims of the rain flange carefully to fit the roof profile.
4. Spread some silicone underneath the flange and press it into place on the roof covering. Smooth out the excess silicone against the edge of the rain flange.
5. Fix the flange to the damper with screws (not included in the delivery) with a recommended spacing of maximum 35 mm.
