Cleaning and sanitizing the CARNIVAL 382SM1 Frozen Beverage Machine is an important step to maintain hygiene and product quality. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to clean and sanitize the machine, as outlined in the owner's manual:
1. Empty the Bowl: Use the tap lever to empty any remaining liquid into a container. Make sure the bowl is completely empty before proceeding.
2. Disassembly: Start by removing the dispensing tap. Place your hand beneath the dispensing outlet to catch any released pieces. Pull the lever pin to disconnect the tap valve and spring. If you need to wash the tap lever, remove the lever pin. Lift the lid straight upward to remove it from the bowl. Unscrew the two front fixing knobs and remove the bowl from its seat. Gently pull on the spiral blades, spiral blade gasket, and bowl gasket to remove them. Lift the drip tray upward and away from the machine to unseat the hooks.
3. Washing: Fill a basin with lukewarm water (approximately 104°F) and a neutral detergent suitable for plastic items. Do not use abrasive powders that may affect the bowl's transparency. Wash all components, except the lid, in the basin using a wet, soft cloth. Do not dip the lid in water as it may damage the electric components. Rinse all parts carefully with clean lukewarm water to remove any residual soap. Dry all parts with a soft cloth.
4. Sanitizing: Sanitizing should be done before the initial use of the machine or if it is not used for an extended period of time. Follow the washing instructions mentioned above. Make a solution of lukewarm water (approximately 104°F) and hypochlorite (bleach) with a 10g to 1L ratio. Use a soft cloth or brush to apply the solution to all components. Rinse all parts carefully with clean lukewarm water to remove any residual solution. Dry all parts with a soft cloth.
5. Reassembly: Before reassembling the machine, ensure that all washed and sanitized parts are completely dry. Some components may require lubrication for efficient operation. Place the bowl gasket at the bottom of the cylinder evaporator, lubricating the upper part. Lubricate the surface of the cylinder in the zone of the transmission shaft outlet. Place the spiral blade gasket, lubricating both the internal and external surfaces. Insert the spiral blade so that the head joins the transmission shaft. Lubricate the external part of the head of the spiral blade. Slide the bowl into position and secure it by screwing the bowl fixing knobs clockwise. Place the lid over the bowl, verifying the correct insertion of the electric contacts. Lastly, reattach the dispensing tap by following the disassembly steps in reverse order.
Remember to perform regular maintenance, such as cleaning the condenser and replacing certain parts according to the recommended schedule mentioned in the manual. Failing to perform required maintenance may void the warranty.
