To install the Faria Commander Tachometer Engine Hourmeter, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the battery before installation to ensure safety.
2. Cut a 3-3/8" diameter hole in the dash and mount the gauge using the backclamp provided.
3. Install the sender according to the enclosed instructions. Make sure it is securely installed.
4. Run the cables from the sender to the Commander and connect the wires from the sender to the corresponding Small or Large connectors using the butt connectors provided. These connectors have heat activated waterproofing.
5. Crimp the butt connectors and apply heat with a heat gun until sealant comes out of the connector ends. Wrap the connections together with electrical tape for further protection.
For specific wiring connections, refer to the wiring diagram at the end of the owner's manual.
Note: It is important to tighten the nuts on the backclamp only slightly more than you can tighten with your fingers. Over-tightening could damage the instrument and void the warranty.
Please refer to the owner's manual for more detailed instructions and diagrams.
