To measure ground resistance using the Megger DET14C Digital Earth Clamp On Tester, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the instrument is in the resistance measurement mode. Turn the rotary switch to the resistance symbol (Ω).
2. Open the clamp and clamp it around the ground conductor that you want to measure. The instrument will automatically sense the jaw opening and display an open jaw icon.
3. Close the clamp around the ground conductor. The open jaw icon will disappear, and the instrument will initiate a resistance measurement. The display will show the resistance value.
4. If you are measuring in a high-noise environment, the instrument will display a noise symbol and activate a filter function to improve noise immunity.
5. The instrument will continuously update the resistance measurement on the display until you press the HOLD button to freeze the reading. You can save the frozen reading to memory by pressing the save button.
Note: It is important to keep the mating jaw surfaces clean and free from damage or scratches for accurate measurements. Regularly clean the jaw surfaces with a damp lint-free cloth. Do not use fluffy cloths that may leave fibers behind.
