Bleeding trapped air from the hydraulic system of the car jack is an important step to ensure proper operation. Here are the steps to bleed the air:
1. With the jack fully lowered, remove both screws on the end of the cover plate that is closer to the saddle. Swing the cover plate open to access the hydraulic unit.
2. Remove the fill plug on top of the cylinder. Check that the oil level inside the cylinder is at the top of the piston.
3. Insert the handle into the handle socket to operate the release valve. Turn the handle counterclockwise to open the valve.
4. Pump the handle up and down quickly 10-15 times to force air from the system.
5. Replace the fill plug, close the cover plate, and reinstall the screws.
It is important to follow these steps to ensure proper bleeding of the air from the hydraulic system. For more detailed instructions and illustrations, please refer to the owner's manual of the HARBOR FREIGHT DS400S Daytona Heavy Duty Car Jack.
