To install the omtech YL H Series H2 80W CO2 Laser Tube, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect your engraver from power and drain its cooling water system. Wait for 30 minutes to allow any charge stored in its internal power supplies to drain completely.
2. Open any side panels, remove any extension boxes, open the laser tube brackets, and disconnect the tubing and wiring to remove the old tube.
3. Gently raise and shake your new tube to check for any damage during shipment. Contact customer service if anything sounds or looks amiss.
4. Place the laser tube in the correct orientation, with the emission lens positioned ½–¾ inches (1.3–1.9 cm) from your engraver's first mirror. It does not need to be perfectly centered.
5. Retighten the brackets to hold the tube securely without excessive pressure.
6. Reconnect the water pipes and wiring.
7. The high-voltage electrical connections are extremely dangerous. It is highly recommended to use a trained electrician for this step.
8. Solder each pair of wires together, black to black and red to red. Fill the provided ceramic cap with slow-drying liquid silicone and press the red wires' connection completely into the cap. Wrap the cap and black wire connection in electrical tape.
9. Ensure that no wiring is exposed and keep the red wire connection away from the metal frame of your engraver to prevent arcing.
10. Wait for six (6) hours for the silicone to firmly set before reconnecting your engraver to electricity, restarting the water cooling system, closing the side panels, reattaching any extension box, testing the laser, and realigning the mirror system.
