According to the instruction manual, here are the cleaning instructions for the Etac Star StabilAir and Star Standard Air cushion:
Cleaning the cover:
1. Remove the cover and close the zipper.
2. Machine wash the cover in warm water (maximum 60°C/140°F for standard cover, maximum 80°/176°F for incontinence cover). Do not bleach.
3. Rinse the cover in cold water and machine dry on low temperature or line dry.
4. To disinfect the cover, it can be machine washed in hot water (80°C/176°F) and tumble dried on low temperature.
Cleaning the cushion:
1. Before cleaning or disinfecting, remove the cover and wash it separately following the steps mentioned above.
2. Close the inflation valve on the cushion.
3. Clean the cushion by hand with soap, bicarbonate, or vinegar. Alternatively, for the Star Standard Air cushion only, it can be machine washed in 40°/104°F (or 60°/140°F for 10 min).
4. Rinse the cushion and let it dry. Note that the cushion must be filled with some air when washing in a machine.
5. To disinfect the cushion, use a 70% alcohol-based disinfectant solution only.
