To install the VENETA 65101-11521-A Smartfit Day and Night Honeycomb Blind, you will need the following tools: a spirit level, a 2mm drill bit, a pencil, and a screwdriver. The necessary hardware is included in the box.
If you are installing the blind inside the window frame, measure at least 12mm in from each end and 14mm back from the front of the window frame. Mark where the screws will go and drill pilot holes using a 2mm bit. Fix the Shoe Bases into position using one long xxxx for each Shoe, ensuring the outer edge is to the outside of the window.
If you are installing the blind outside the window frame, use a spirit level for vertical and horizontal alignment. Place the blind in position and mark the top corners. Measure 4mm down and 5mm in from the top left and top right of where the blind will sit, and mark the location of the L bracket outer screws. The measurement from this xxxx to the xxxx on the bottom brackets is the 'order height' minus 8mm. Place L brackets in position and mark where the other screws will go. Drill pilot holes and fix the L brackets into position using two long screws for each bracket. Fix the Shoe Bases onto the L Brackets using one short bolt for each shoe, ensuring the outer edge is to the outside of the window.
If Magnet Catches are supplied, install them on the top rail of the blind. Measure from the left of the Shoe Base and mark the same measurements on the window frame or architrave. Place the magnet catch in position and mark the xxxx hole with a pencil. Fix the magnet catches into position using one short xxxx per catch. Position the L Bracket to line up with the magnets at the top of the blind and mark the xxxx holes with a pencil. Fix the L Brackets into position using two long screws per bracket.
To attach the handle, slide it against the handle support pre-attached on the rail until it can't move anymore.
When installing the blind, secure the bottom shoe slider first and then unfasten the top cord to secure the top shoe slider. Do not untie the top cord until the bottom shoe slider is secured. Ensure the cords are not crossed or tangled. Lower and raise the blind using the handles on the top, middle, and bottom rails. The blind will close firmly at the top utilizing the inbuilt magnets.
For maintenance, dust the blind using a feather duster or a vacuum with a brush attachment on low suction. Spot clean with a warm damp cloth or mild detergent for tougher stains, dabbing the affected area without rubbing the fabric. Allow the fabric to dry in the lowered position. If ultrasonically cleaning the blind, specify that a mild solution must be used, and avoid immersing the rails in liquid.
