To install the Miele W1 WMV 960 Exceptional Washing Machine, follow these steps:
1. Choose a suitable installation surface: A concrete floor is the most suitable surface as it reduces vibrations during the spin cycle. Avoid installing the machine on soft floor coverings like wooden floorboards or carpets.
2. Transport the machine safely: Before carrying the appliance, ensure that the lid is securely fixed at the back. Carry the washing machine by the front feet and by the lid at the back.
3. Remove the transit bars: Push the flaps outwards and turn the transit bars 90° using the enclosed spanner. Then pull the transit bars out. Remember to cover the holes for the transit bars after removal.
4. Level the machine: Use the adjustable xxxx feet to level the washing machine. Turn the counter nut in a clockwise direction to unscrew the foot. Use a spirit level to check if the machine is standing level. Secure all four counter nuts for the feet.
5. Install under a continuous worktop (if applicable): If you plan to install the machine under a worktop, a special building under conversion kit is required. The machine lid must be replaced by a cover plate. Follow the instructions supplied with the conversion kit.
6. Connect to water supply: The washing machine must be connected to a potable water supply. The water connection pressure should be between 100 kPa (1 bar) and 1000 kPa (10 bar). Use a tap with a ¾ inch threaded union for the connection. Ensure the connection is leakproof.
7. Drainage options: The drain hose can be directed into a laundry trough, tub, sud-saver pipe, trapped waste pipe, or floor drain. Ensure the hose is free of kinks and can drain freely without hindrance.
8. Electrical connection: The washing machine comes with a mains cable and a molded plug. Connect it to a switched socket that is easily accessible. Do not use an extension lead or multi-socket plug adapter. All electrical work must be done by a qualified person, and it is advisable to install a suitable residual current device (RCD) for extra safety.
