To clean the kettle, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the kettle and let it cool down.
2. Use a damp sponge to clean the exterior of the kettle. Do not immerse the kettle, its base, the cord, or the electric plug in water or any other liquid.
3. Clean the removable filter regularly. Lift the kettle off its base and allow it to cool before removing the filter. If the filter is wet, rinse it under a running tap. If it is dry, gently brush it. If scale has accumulated on the filter, it may need descaling.
4. Descaling the kettle is recommended at least once a month or more frequently if your water is very hard. There are three methods you can use:
- Using white vinegar: Fill the kettle with 1/2 liter of vinegar and leave it to stand for 1 hour without heating.
- Using citric acid: Boil 1/2 liter of water, add 25g of citric acid, and leave it to stand for 15 minutes.
- Using a descaler specific for plastic kettles: Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
5. After descaling, empty the kettle and rinse it 5 or 6 times. Repeat if necessary.
6. Soak the filter in white vinegar or diluted citric acid to descale it.
7. Never use a descaling method other than those recommended.
