The indoor coil should be inspected twice each year and cleaned at least once per year or more if necessary. It is recommended to have a licensed professional service technician perform the cleaning. Cleaning should be done using potable water at a moderate pressure (less than 50psi). If the coil cannot be cleaned with water alone, a coil cleaner with a pH in the range of 5 to 9 can be used. After cleaning, the coil must be thoroughly rinsed. In coastal areas, the coil should be cleaned with potable water several times per year to avoid corrosive buildup from salt.
