To measure AC currents using the Sonel C-6A Current Clamp, follow these steps:
1. Open the clamp slightly by turning the clasp.
2. Clamp the C-6A Current Clamp onto the conductor with the flowing current.
3. Make sure to center the conductor relative to the clamp loop.
4. Pay attention to the direction of the arrow marked on one of the clamps. This arrow indicates the direction of the current flow. It is important to align the clamp in the correct orientation to avoid power measurement errors.
5. The output signal of the clamp is a voltage proportional to the measured current at a sensitivity of 100 mV/A. The signal is introduced via a cable (length: 2.2 m) with a pin suitable for a socket in the meter.
6. Connect the cable to the appropriate socket in the meter.
7. The meter will display the measured current based on the voltage signal received from the clamp.
Note: It is important to keep the gap formed by the faces of the core perfectly clean for accurate measurements. Do not expose the clamp to water and avoid using non-insulated clamps for conductors with a potential exceeding 600 V (in systems with a measurement category higher than III and systems of measurement category IV with a potential exceeding 300 V).
For more detailed information, refer to the Sonel C-6A Current Clamp User Manual provided by the manufacturer.
