To adjust the volume or equalizer controls on the Biamp DS1042 Dynasound Pro Sound Masking System, follow these steps:
1. Set all front panel controls to the 0° position.
2. Plug the DS1042 power cord into an outlet.
3. Turn the Volume control (left control) clockwise until you hear the masking sound coming from the first masking device. The setting should be at about 135° on the dial, set very low so you can just hear it. This step ensures that each masking device is operational.
To adjust the equalizer control, follow these additional steps:
1. Set the volume control on the DS1042 unit to 90°.
2. Set the equalizer (low pass filter) control to the 0° (off) position.
3. Check all speakers to ensure they are connected and operating properly.
4. If the installation includes plenum speakers, make sure all ceiling panels that have been removed are put back in place.
For different types of ceilings, the recommended volume control and equalizer control settings are as follows:
- For 9-foot high, 1/2" to 3/4" thick mineral fiber ceilings with reflective ceiling plenums: Set the volume control indicator to the 85° position on the dial and the equalizer control to the 120° position.
- For 1" foil-backed glass fiber ceilings with conditions as above: Set the volume control indicator at the 75° position on the dial and the equalizer control to the 165° position.
