To switch between AC power and battery power on the Yale AC-PBX Powered External Siren, you need to follow these steps:
1. AC Power: When the siren is connected to the mains via the DC input, the battery will automatically disable, and the battery switch will have no function. The siren will be powered directly from the AC mains.
2. Battery Power: If you want to power the siren using batteries, you will need 4 x D-cell Alkaline batteries. On the right-hand side of the PC board, there is a battery switch that you can use to turn the power ON or OFF. When the battery switch is turned ON, the siren will be powered by the batteries.
Please note that when changing the batteries, it is recommended to fully discharge the old battery by pressing the Tamper Switch twice before inserting the new battery.
If the siren is powered by batteries and a low battery is detected, a Low Battery signal will be sent to the Control Panel to notify the user. However, if AC power is being used, the low battery state of the AC-PBX will not be notified.
For more information and detailed instructions, you can refer to the Yale AC-PBX Powered External Siren User Manual provided by the manufacturer.
