To install the GE Profile PGP9830SR 30 Inch Downdraft Gas Cooktop, you have three installation options: wall installation, peninsula/island installation, or slab installation. Here are the dimensions and spacing requirements for each installation type:
1. Wall Installation:
- The wall installation requires a countertop depth of 25 inches.
- When the cabinet is flush against the wall, the fan housing can be rotated to the horizontal position for direct venting through the rear wall.
- Make a countertop cutout in the range cabinet according to the unit dimensions and installation type.
- The duct hole is positioned in the back of the cabinet for through-the-wall ducting.
- A 5-inch minimum spacing to the adjacent side wall is required.
2. Peninsula/Island Installation:
- For peninsula/island installation, a minimum countertop depth of 26 inches is suggested.
- The blower should be in the vertical position.
- Island or peninsula cabinets may require adjustment in cutout depth and/or location within the width dimensions.
- The duct hole is positioned in the bottom of the cabinet for island or peninsula installation.
- A 5-inch minimum spacing to the adjacent side wall is required.
3. Slab Installation:
- For peninsula or island installation with rear wall ducting, use 6-inch PVC duct or locally approved piping if installing under a poured concrete slab.
It is important to consult the installation instructions packed with the product for current dimensional data and to ensure proper installation. Additionally, always follow local building codes when specifying the type and schedule of all duct used.
Please note that these cooktops are approved for indoor use only.
