To install the Westfield DORADO XL 400 AIR Awning on your caravan, follow these steps:
1. Preparation:
- Use a groundsheet or tent carpet as a base to avoid damage and contamination during assembly.
- If required, fit the draft skirt by sliding it into the lower rail on the bottom of your caravan. The wheel cover either slides into the rail on the wheel arch or uses the figure of eight tubing and connects to the top of the draft skirt.
2. Insert Awning:
- Remove all side and front elements for easy sliding of the awning into the caravan rail.
- Slide the awning beading into the caravan rail and align it to the desired position.
- Ensure that the awning is aligned equally, as changing the position afterwards is not possible.
- Clamp the side walls of the tunnel close to your vehicle using the pegs.
3. Pumping:
- Use the original pump delivered with your awning.
- Pump carefully with about 50% pressure (3 to 4 PSI) to avoid damage.
- Check inside the awning for any twisted air tubes to avoid damages.
- Pump the tubes to the full pressure of 7 PSI. The pressure valve from the air pump will automatically open above 7 PSI to avoid overpressure.
- Close the protective cap on the valve to avoid loss of pressure.
- Use distance sets to align your air tubes, depending on the soil texture.
4. Pitching:
- Peg your awning starting at the vehicle and then go outside. Set the supplied pegs at a slight angle and use all guying points.
- Use the rear pole kit to balance the distance between the awning and the vehicle. Fold the cushions on the side walls outwards, place the poles in the designated pockets, and tension them up.
- Use the canopy pole kit if needed.
