To install the Hills Double Folding Frame Clothesline, you have two options: wall installation or ground mounting. If you choose to ground mount, you will need to purchase a Hills Folding Frame Post Kit separately. Here are the installation instructions:
Wall Installation:
1. Select a suitable location with sufficient clearance around the clothesline.
2. Mark the hole centers using the brackets as templates. The outer hole centers should be exactly 2353mm apart, and the lower hole centers should be in line with the user's head height. Use a spirit level to ensure the hole centers are level both vertically and horizontally.
3. Adhere the wall brackets. If you are mounting to masonry, brick, or concrete, drill 10mm holes at the marked points and secure the brackets using the supplied M8 x 70 Masonry Wall Bolts. If mounting to a different substrate, consult your local hardware store for appropriate fixings.
Assembling the Folding Clothesline:
1. Slide the Arm End Caps onto the end of each arm and strut.
2. Secure the arms and struts into the wall brackets using the Chicago Bolts. Ensure the inner frame arms (shorter) are on the inside of the clothesline.
3. Install the Inner Frame: Insert one Inner Front Bar into the Inner Right Arm, slide one Joining Bar onto the Inner Front Bar, slide the remaining Inner Front Bar into the Joining Bar, and carefully slot the assembled bars into the Left Inner Arm.
4. Install the Outer Frame: Insert one Outer Front Bar into the Outer Right Arm, slide one Joining Bar onto the Outer Front Bar, slide the remaining Outer Front Bar into the Joining Bar, and carefully slot the assembled bars into the Outer Left Arm.
Attaching the Line:
1. The clothesline comes with the Line Tensioner and Line pre-attached on both frames. Thread the line through each frame in alternating directions, keeping tension as you go.
2. Follow the instructions on page 9 of the manual to tie off the final thread on each frame.
