According to the instruction manual, regular and sufficient maintenance is necessary for the proper functioning of the conductor rails. The recommended maintenance interval for various inspection and maintenance tasks are as follows:
- Visual inspection of the conductor contact for wear and signs of denting: Every 500 km or 1 month after commissioning at the latest.
- Visual inspection of the connection cables: Semi-annually.
- Visual inspection of the brush surfaces of the conductor rails: Semi-annually.
- Visual inspection of the insulation of the conductor rails: Semi-annually.
- Visual check for damages, dirt, burn spots, or corrosion of rail connectors, anchor clamps, hanger clamps, power feeds, end caps, pickup/transfer/tangential guides, transfer point cap, insulating sections, and expansion units: Semi-annually.
- Inspection of heating wires: Half-yearly.
- Cleaning of conductor rails: As necessary.
- Electrical inspection, including measurement of grounding resistance and insulation resistance: After each maintenance.
