To replace a burned-out bulb in the GE Lighting CFPSI-50 50-100-150 Lights, please follow these steps:
1. Grasp the plug and remove it from the receptacle or other outlet device. Make sure the set is unplugged before proceeding.
2. Identify the type of bulb that needs to be replaced. The GE Lighting CFPSI-50 50-100-150 Lights contain two different types of bulbs: steady-illuminating bulbs and fuse bulbs. Steady bulbs are identified by a white-colored ring, while fuse bulbs are secured in the base with adhesive.
3. If you need to replace a steady bulb, hold the bulb by the plastic base and pull it straight out of the socket. Replace it with a 2.5 Volt, 0.425 Watt super bright midget push-in type lamp provided with the product. Push the spare bulb/base assembly into the socket, making sure not to twist the bulb when inserting it. Twisting the bulb may cause part of the set to not light. If the spare bulbs provided do not have a plastic base or do not fit, follow the additional steps below:
a. Remove the old bulb by straightening the bulb wires and pulling the bulb straight from the base.
b. Replace the new bulb by straightening the bulb leads and aiming each wire into a separate hole in the plastic base.
c. Make sure each bulb lead comes out an exit opening at the bottom of the plastic base. Bend each lead up so that it fits closely against the narrow side of the plastic base.
4. If you need to replace a fuse bulb, do not attempt to remove it as it is secured in the base with adhesive. Remove the old fuse bulb and replace it with a 2.5 Volt, 0.425 Watt fuse bulb provided with the product.
5. Once the bulb has been replaced, plug the set back into the outlet and check if the new bulb lights up. If the set still does not light, there may be a break in the circuit between the bulb leads and the socket terminals. In this case, unplug the set and gently push (don't twist) each bulb base firmly into the socket. If the problem persists, check the fuses located in the fuse door.
