To install the HINKLEY 3260 LED Wall Sconce, follow these steps:
1. Find a clear area to work in and unpack the fixture and glass from the carton.
2. Review the instructions carefully before starting the assembly.
3. Prepare the mounting strap (A) by threading the two long mounting screws (B) into the back of the universal strap. Make sure the holes in the strap match the spacing of the holes (D) in the back plate (E).
4. Attach the mounting strap (A) to the junction box (J) using two screws (C) (not provided).
5. Make sure to read the wiring and grounding instructions (I.S. 18) and any additional directions for safety. Turn off the power supply during installation. If new wiring is required, consult a qualified electrician or local authorities for code requirements.
6. Make the electrical connections from the supply wire to the fixture lead wires, following the instructions in sheet I.S. 18.
7. To mount the fixture, slip the two mounting screws (B) through the two mounting holes (D) in the backplate (E). While holding the fixture in place, thread the two ball knobs (F) onto the mounting screws (B) and tighten them.
8. For glass installation, remove the knurled screws (1) from the glass fitter (2). Thread the lamp (L) into the socket (not provided). Slip the top of the glass (3) into the glass fitter (2) and thread in the knurled screws (1) removed earlier. Tighten the screws until snug, using only your fingers. Over-tightening with a tool could damage the glass.
9. Follow the wiring and grounding instructions (I.S. 18) to complete all electrical connections, depending on whether it is an indoor or outdoor fixture.
10. If installing a wall mount fixture, use caulk to seal gaps between the fixture mounting plate (backplate) and the wall to prevent water from entering the outlet box. If the wall surface is lap siding, use caulk and a fixture mounting platform.
11. For grounding instructions, follow the specific instructions based on the type of fixture (flush mount, chain hung, or post-mount).
