To connect the Yorkville PS12S Parasource Series Powered Subwoofer to your audio system, you have two options: line-level mode and speaker-level mode.
1. Line-Level Mode:
- Use balanced ¼-inch (Tip, Ring, Sleeve) and/or XLR cables to connect the PS12S to a processor, electronic crossover, the output of an un-powered mixer, or the loop-through of a powered speaker cabinet.
- This mode reduces the unit's sensitivity to hum and buzz.
2. Speaker-Level Mode:
- Connect the PS12S like an ordinary speaker in parallel using the loop-through jacks, along with the passive full-range loudspeakers.
- Use a ¼-inch speaker cable to connect the PS12S directly from the output of an amplifier or a powered-mixer.
- You can also use a speaker level signal from the parallel connection on an un-powered speaker cabinet.
Note: Do not plug in two speaker level sources to a single PS12S. Also, increasing the Level control while in limiting will not increase the loudness and may lead to feedback when the operating level is reduced.
