To connect the external battery to the APC BX1000UXI Back-UPS, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the Back-UPS is turned off and disconnected from the power source.
2. Locate the external battery terminal on the rear panel of the Back-UPS (labeled as "External battery terminal").
3. Connect the red wire from the external battery to the positive terminal of the Back-UPS.
4. Connect the black wire from the external battery to the negative terminal of the Back-UPS.
5. Ensure that the connections are secure and properly tightened.
6. Once the external battery is connected, you can turn on the Back-UPS and it will start charging the battery.
Note: It is important to use UL certified external battery cables that are rated for 75°C or above. Also, make sure to select the appropriate charging current and battery type using the charging current selection switch and battery type selection switch on the rear panel of the Back-UPS, as mentioned in the user manual.
