To turn on the Lennox EL180UHNE Upflow Horizontal Gas Furnace, follow these steps:
1. Set the thermostat to the lowest setting.
2. Turn off all electrical power to the unit.
3. Remove the upper access panel.
4. Move the switch on the gas valve to the "OFF" position.
5. Wait for five minutes to clear out any gas. If you smell gas during this time, stop and immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor's phone. Follow the gas supplier's instructions.
6. Move the switch on the gas valve to the "ON" position.
7. Replace the upper access panel.
8. Turn on all electrical power to the unit.
9. Set the thermostat to the desired setting.
Note: When the unit is initially started, steps 1 through 9 may need to be repeated to purge air from the gas line.
