To mount the HINKLEY 3262IN Denton Single Light Plug in Sconce to a wall without a junction box, follow these steps:
1. Find a clear area where you can work and unpack the fixture and glass from the carton.
2. Carefully review the instructions prior to assembly.
3. Remove the mounting plate (A) from the backplate (E) by removing the ball knobs (F) as shown in Drawing 1.
4. Determine the location for the mounting plate (A) and mark the xxxx hole location.
5. Attach the mounting plate (A) to the wall using appropriate hardware, ensuring that the mounting screws (B) are level.
6. To mount the fixture, slip the two mounting screws (B) through the two mounting holes (D) in the backplate (E) as shown in Drawing 1.
7. While holding the fixture in place, thread the two ball knobs (F) onto the end of the mounting screws (B) and tighten them.
8. To install the glass, first, remove the knurled screws (1) from the glass fitter (2).
9. Thread a lamp (L), not provided, into the socket.
10. Take the glass (3) and slip the top into the glass fitter (2). Then, thread in the knurled screws (1) that were removed earlier. Tighten the screws until snug. Only use your fingers to tighten the knurled screws, as over-tightening with a tool could damage the glass.
11. After completing all the assembly steps, the fixture can be plugged in for use.
