To install the HARVIA D55-020188 Legend Sauna Glass Door, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the material in the walls is not porous. If it is porous, consult your dealer for the appropriate installation and sealing methods.
2. Place a piece of cardboard or padding under the door to prevent it from hitting the floor during installation. This is important as a tempered glass door can break into small pieces if sharply hit.
3. Keep the support in the bottom edge of the door frame in place until the installation is finished.
4. Measure the width and height of the opening and the door to determine the appropriate size of the glass door. Refer to the provided size options in the manual.
5. Install supports on the sides of the opening, leaving room for wedging on both sides. Use a spirit level to ensure the supports are installed vertically in line. You can use a straight board as an extension for a short spirit level. Cut and install supports made of wood under the door.
6. Install temporary stoppers on the supports to make the installation easier, especially if you are working alone. Place the stoppers so that the flagging on the wall and the door frame are on the same level.
7. Leave a gap of about 10 mm between the top of the frame and the opening. For ventilation in the sauna, leave a 100-200 mm gap under the door. In other rooms, a 10 mm gap is sufficient.
8. Lift the glass door into the opening and place wedges next to the bores between the supports. Ensure that the wedges are not placed under the bores. Fasten the hinge-side part of the frame to the wall with screws, starting with the topmost xxxx . Repeat the process for the opposite side.
9. Check that the gap between the glass and the frame is equally wide from bottom to top. This should also be checked above the door.
10. After fastening the frame with screws, ensure that the frame is straight and the door opens and closes properly. If necessary, cut off the excess parts of the wedges in a vertical position. Remove supports from under the door and from the bottom edge of the frame.
11. Install the cornice strips and the handle.
12. Before installing the cornice strips, coat the lower ends of the frame woods, cornice strips, and visible parts of the frame with sauna protection.
